Question We operate a small electronics repair lab that was just equipped with ESD flooring and I am looking for a specification to calibrate to.

What results should I expect with an ESD type Vinyl composition tile  applied with ESD adhesive. There are several locations where the copper grounding strap is connected to building ground.
Answer If you choose to meet ANSI/ESD S20.20, you will want to meet the required limit for flooring which is less than 1 x 10^9 ohms (1 gigohm or 1,000,000,000 ohms).

If you will be using to ground personnel as a Flooring/Footwear System the required limit is less than 3.5 x 10^7 ohms (35 megohms or 35,000,000 ohms). However, there is a Method 2 test but the required limit is less than 1 x 10^9 ohms AND less than 100 volts on personnel's body.

To protect your ESD floor, you might consider using Statguard Dissipative Floor Finish making a very low charging, durable and high-gloss finish.
